As the official start date of the MLB season has come and gone, and the likelihood of summer games being played in stadiums with thousands of fans cheering is becoming "increasingly remote" per Ken Rosenthal ( @Ken_Rosenthal )of The Athletic ; we are left to wonder if and when we will see baseball. Add to that, the news broke this morning that there was a conference call between league commissioners and Donald Trump and the goal is to have fans in NFL stadiums by Aug-Sept. While that bodes well for the NFL, that is basically the playoff time frame for MLB...
Major league baseball is reportedly looking into starting the season in the empty facilities in Arizona and Florida when teams gather for Spring Training annually. Many things would have to happen for this to come to fruition like: first and foremost the healthy and safety of all involved while limiting the potential for increased spreading of the virus, ensuring testing is available for all players, coaches, team staff, media outlets and anyone else deemed critical to baseball operations prior to beginning play; maintaining adequate site security and medical personnel, preparing production equipment to stream/televise, plans to compensate teams for lost gate/concession/etc revenue, etc, etc. Rosenthal correctly stated that the "margin of error would be so small" for MLB trying to play games. One player getting infected with the virus could threaten the whole operation. On the bright side the facilities exist for all teams, and players are already semi-comfortable at those locations (with most having homes already in the areas). It makes sense and would give many Americans something else to focus on. The commissioner stated on an Opening Day free conference that the league had an "unflinching determination required to navigate an entire baseball season to help us through the challenging situation currently facing us all." Well said Mr Manfred. Currently there is no time table for the return to the field.

Baseball, sports really, has always been a passion of mine. I bought this domain years ago with the thought of being able to provide content and give people a voice that would not ordinarily have it. However, life has gotten in the way repeatedly; as well as a level of laziness and selfishness when it comes to my spare time.
I am going to try and use my time during the COVID-19 pandemic to the fullest and help to re-kindle my passion and this website, and give myself as well as others an outlet. If you feel that you would like to be a part of it, please like/follow and even reach out with your own articles and thoughts via our contact page, and if published you will be credited for your original posts. I want you to help shape what this site will become. Thank you! We are still in our build phase, but we are currently accpting submittals for amateur blog authors. Looking for writers in all areas (locations with major or minor league affiliates a plus) to offer insight into theire local market; also people that have interesting national takes, historical anecdotes, as well as those with fantasy knowledge (stats, player performance/injury notes, matchup breakdowns, etc).
